HLTAID001 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

The HLTAID001 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge to assist in a cardiac arrest where CPR ( Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation ) is required. It covers all aspects of basic resuscitation as well as the use of defibrillators in the public setting.

Target Audience

This unit is designed for those who wish to gain a good understanding of CPR not only for those in the workplace but also for anyone wishing to learn how to perform this essential life-saving skill.

Course Requirements

Only basic numeracy and literacy skills are needed to attend this course. Access to a computer with internet, as well as basic computer skills is required for completion of this unit. Completion of this unit does require the student to be able to get onto the floor to perform CPR – this is a licensing requirement of the unit.

If you have ANY special needs ( eg, language / literacy / numeracy difficulties, physical disabilities etc ) that you think may impact on your ability to complete this training please let us know prior to enrolling.

Pre-course study

It is required that you watch the CPR videos available on our website to aid in your understanding of CPR.

There will be a short quiz at the beginning of the course on the information contained in the videos, this is to enable the trainer to better guide the content of the course for you.

Re certification requirements

CPR refresher is recommended annually

Assessment requirements

There is some theory and practical assessment to ensure that the participant has gained the required knowledge and confidence in the skills covered in the unit. You will be required, as per the Training Package, to complete 2 mins of CPR on a CPR manikin.
